Musik dan Realitas Sosial (Analisis Semiotika dalam Lagu Iwan Fals “Surat Buat Wakil Rakyat”)

Abstract

The title of the research is Music and Social Reality ( Semiotics Analysis on Iwan Fals song "Surat Buat Wakil Rakyat” (letter for legislators) . The purpose of the research is to see what the message delivered by Iwan Fals for the legislators to the listener . The method used is the semiotics of Roland Barthes that explore the meaning behind the lyrics of the song every sign that, by using the analytical approach based on the concept of semiotic significance of the two stages of Roland Barthes . Which is the object of research is Iwan Fals song titled "Surat Buat Wakil Rakyat” (letter for legislators) very exploded in the market when the elections in 1987 which tells the legislators of the people who like to sleep time trial considered insulting state officials . The song was even on the block should not be aired on television because they disrupt political stability.
