Many people think that others are much better and more successful than themselves. It will make an individual caught up with the wrong assumptions, which leads to self-confidence and worthlessness. If it continues, it will cause very complicated problems. These problems include the fear of community appraisal of him, fear of failure in any case he does, ostracized, feeling useless and always requires encouragement of others in doing the work he will do. Ex-drug addicts desperately need family support. Family support has a more effective role when it comes to people who feel close and credible that they are able to understand their current situation. This research is a qualitative research with case study design, which aims to describe and deeply explore the life and human actions specifically at certain locations with certain cases that enable, express or understand something. To find out how the relationship between the family support and self-confidence of the ex-drug addicts at Alkamal Rehabilitation Sibolangit Centre, researchers conducted observations and in-depth interviews to 3 main informants, namely ex-drug addicts, 3 additional informants, namely family of ex-drug addicts and 1 key informant, namely social worker addiction. Based on the results of research and data analysis can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between family support with confidence ex drug user where the higher the support from the family then the higher the sense of confidence that perceived the former drug users. The support provided by the family in the form of assessment support, instrumental support, information support, and emotional support. Such support can make the former drug users feel more in hugs and guided by the family so as not to fall back into the use of drugs. The confidence of former drug users grows because of family support so that they are able to communicate, socialize well in the family and in the community and able to be calm in facing various problems of life.en_US
