Abstract

In Article 1, paragraph 4 of Law 12 of 1995 on Corrections, stated that the Correctional Institute is an institution to implement correctional clients guidance guidance guidance in the form of self-reliance, independence Guidance is directed at the talent and skills that prisoners can return serve as members of society free and responsible and have the skills and ability to make independent living skills and more baik.Teknik data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis with qualitative approach, by collecting, managing, presenting and describing the results as they are, this study aims to determine the role of correctional Centers independence Terrain in implementing guidance for correctional clients, Samples were correctional clients who've followed the guidance of independence that is made up of 20 people who all dijadik Population. The result of research that BAPAS field has performed its role proved by guidance of independence which have been implemented in the form of Montir Skill, Driving, Service Mobile, Anggrek Culture, Screening, Cooking. The role of BAPAS in carrying out the guidance of independence in the sense of very useful for clients is evidenced from the overall research results obtained by using research instruments in the form of questionnaires, questionnaires as much as 20 (twenty) and coupled with the results of interviews, but in the implementation BAPAS Medan still has constraints that lack Funds, facilities and infrastructure to be able to carry out guidance of maximum independence and comprehensive to all correctional clients.
