Ketahanan Energi Indonesia (Studi Analisis : Optimalisasi Pemanfaatan Panas Bumi sebagai Alternatif Energi Baru dan Terbarukan di Sumatera Utara)
Abstract
This study describes the utilization of renewable energy, especially geothermal,
Obstacles and Advantages in geothermal utilization, and Geothermal as a
supporter of Energy resilience in North Sumatra. The theory used is the National
Resilience Theory in which there are points that explain the concept of energy
security and the second using the concept of sustainable development because this
research focuses on how much Geothermal development to support the Resilience
of Energy in North Sumatra. This research uses Qualitative Method by using
Primary Data from interview and Secondary Data. The conclusion of this research
is Geothermal has many positive roles but Utilization of Geothermal in North
Sumatera still not optimal because although development of development dams is
done big big an but its benefit still can not be felt by society. Because of the 16
newly discovered potential points 2 that have been built into Geothermal Power
Plant (Lau Debuk which suffered turbine damage and the new Sarulla can operate
in 2018), 1 potential point in the exploration phase towards the development stage
( Sorik Merapi), 2 potential points are in the process of auction, and the remaining
11 remaining points are still untouched. From the potential data, it is known that
the potential of speculative resources is 1,500 MWe, while Sibayak PLTP is
currently in the production operation phase with an installed capacity of 12 MW.
So that the percentage of geothermal utilization in North Sumatera Province from
the total potential is only about 0.8%
