    Abstract
    The beggars involving children is the person who begs and elicits the mercy of others by carrying or carrying a child. Beggars who carry a child in order to influence and give birth to feelings of compassion for those who see, not only bring one child beggars and some even bring two children. These children are invited to make people feel sorry for them when their mother is very healthy. The economically disadvantaged factors are the most influencing factors so that they enter into the world of begging. The method used in this research is explorative research with qualitative method that is by interview to 4 main informant 1 key informant and 2 additional informant. The research was conducted at the location of Mesjid Agung Medan. The results show that beggars bring their children and grandchildren to do begging activities. Beginner beggars who perform activities in the location of the Great Mosque of Medan has the assumption that the pilgrims who will pray more easily touched his heart let alone see the children they brought. Visitors of the Great Mosque of Medan age range from young people to parents. Every time begging at this location beggars beggars can earn up to forty thousand dollars. The amount is enough to meet their life needs. If this condition continues, it will result in widespread begging practices that involve children and lead to the mental decline of the Indonesian nation. Keywords: Socioeconomic
