Land cover change is affected by land use dynamically. The purpose of
the research was to know land cover change in Medan city for period 2000- 2011
with Gheographic Information System (GIS) and to know the dominant factor of
land cover change in Medan city with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP).
The research result showed during the period of 2000- 2011 in Medan
city, the kind of the land cover change were dryland farming mixed bush into
dryland farming, fields into residential, secondary mangrove forest into fishpond,
bush into fishpond, bush into plantation.The biggest wide change of land cover
change was dryland farming mixed bush into dryland farming and wide value
was 552,99Ha. It was caused by the influence of policy inforcement in terms of
economic. Because of that, cooperation between people and government was
needed to use land suitably in its function. | en_US |
