RETNO RATIH WAHYUNINGTIAS. Isolation and Identifying of Endophytic
Fungi from Plant Tissues of Agarwood (Aquilaria malaccencis Lamk.). Under
guidance of NELLY ANNA and EDY BATARA MULYA SIREGAR.
Endophytic fungi represent a group of fungi which can live in plant
tissues with the have symbiosis of mutualism with their host. Research about
endophytic fungi of agarwood have never been done previously in Indonesia.
Intention of this research is to isolation, identifying, and comparing fungi endofit
which live in plant tissues of agarwood ( A. malaccensis Lamk.). Sample which is
to used is leaves, small branch, and root which is taken away from Desa
Penungkiran Dusun II Durin Jangah Pancur Batu. Isolation and identifying has
been done in Laboratorium Bioteknologi Hutan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas
Sumatera Utara, which is conducted from October – December 2012.
The result of this research showed that there are six isolat of endophytic
fungi from root, that is Cladosporium sp1., Aspergillus sp1., Cladosporium sp3.,
Aspergillus sp2., Aspergillus sp3., dan Aspergillus sp4.; four isolat from leaves,
that is Fusarium sp., Acremonium sp., Cladosporium sp4., dan Aspergillus sp5.;
and one isolat from small branch, that is Cladosporium sp2. Marga Cladosporium
has found in each plant tissues of agarwood which is isolated and Acremonium
used to induce the agarwood is only found in just isolate leaf.
