CHRISTYKA RUTH HANDAYANI SIMBOLON: Effect of Intensity of
shading on growth of Bruguiera cylindrica in Sicanang Belawan, under academik
supervisor of guided by YUNASFI and BUDIUTOMO.
Bruguiera cylindrica is shaped mangrove forest plants such as evergreen
trees, roots and root knee board that extends to the base of the tree next section,
the height of the tree sometimes reaching 23 m. The study was conducted in the
village of Sicanang, Belawan and Medan District in Forest Soil Biology
Laboratory, Agroekoteknologi Studies Program, Faculty of Agriculture,
University of North Sumatra, conducted in September through December 2011.
This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 nonfactorial treatment, the intensity of the shade (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%)
repeated as many as 10 to obtain 50 experimental units. The percentage of live
seeds B.cylindrica different shade intensity is 100%. Seeds highest B.cylindrica to
the intensity of the shade 100% of 20.04 cm. B.cylindrica seedling stem diameter
at the site to 75% shade intensity is 0.68 cm. The number of leaf largest seed
B.cylindrica in the intensity of the shade can be 50%, 75%, and 100% is 5 pieces.
Total leaf area B.cylindrica biggest seed to the intensity of the shade with 50% of
the 12.83 cm2
. Headers and Roots Ratio B.cylindrica biggest seed to the intensity
of the shhade with 50% of the 0,075 gr.
