Remote indigenous communities are groups of people who have local sociocultural
nature and less dispersed or have not been involved in a network of social
services, economic, and political. As discussed in this study is whether there is a
company that provides funds CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in a remote
indigenous community empowerment in Toba Samosir in accordance with the
Regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs No. 13 of 2012 on Corporate Social
Responsibility Forum in the Implementation of Social Welfare. Empowerment
remote indigenous communities in Toba Samosir has a relatively small budget
constraints that require CSR funds. So in this study will be presented how to
optimize the role of corporate social responsibility in a remote indigenous
community empowerment acceleration in Toba Samosir.
Type is classified as a descriptive study that aims to describe the need for the
role of corporate social responsibility in a remote indigenous community
empowerment acceleration. The number of informants in this study were 7 people
from the village of West Meranti Silaen District of Toba Samosir, the Social Service
Toba Samosir, and the CSR division PT. Toba Pulp Lestari and CSR division of PT.
Aquafarm Nusantara. Meanwhile, the techniques of data analysis in this study using
qualitative methods.
The results of data analysis concluded that the major companies in Toba
Samosir who run corporate social responsibility are not informed about the terms of
remote indigenous communities and no one has provided funds to the citizens CSR
remote indigenous communities. In addition, the company and the government there
has been no cooperation related to the empowerment of remote indigenous
communities. In this case the government and the company can perform a new
partnership in accordance with Permensos RI using CSR funds in financing sources
empowerment remote indigenous communities in Toba Samosir.
