dc.description.abstract | In this current situation is very posible to change the conditions for the workers
because of illness, injury and death. The employment BPJS is one of the social
security is able to provide a protection to againts of this condition. The issues was
discussed in this research is how the response from laborers to the Employment BPJS
programs assitance by Labor Solidarity North Sumatra (SBSU). This research is
expected to develop concepts and theories relating to social security to workers.
Research conducted at DPP Labor Solidarity North Sumatra (SBSU) sub-district
Medan Selayang, the city of Medan. This research is classified as descriptive
research type with a total population of 330 people who later on took a sample of 20
people. The sampling technique in this study is a randomized proportioanal.
Proportional random sampling technique is used by researchers have criteria. The
criteria is the companies with high occupational risk, thecompanies with sectoral
minimum wages (UMSK), and the companies with laborers aged 40 years and over.
Because of population composed from several sub population are not homogeneous
and every sub-pupolations will be represented in research to obtain data, researchers
used a questionnaire research instruments. Analyzing data, researchers used
quantitative analysis method with descriptive data analysis techniques.
Based on the result of data analysis can be concluded that the response of the
workers as Employment BPJS program participants viewed from the aspects of
socialization and registration gets a positive response from the laborers, it can be
seen from the labor understanding of the program Employment BPJS and labor’s
participation to Employment BPJS programs. While the service has a negative
response, it was caused by the low satisfaction laborers of the programs Employment
