Cases of divorce today is no longer as great a disgrace but as if made as pride. Based on the data
obtained from the divorce rate in Indonesia is a sad thing. It is clear from the data that comes from the
people of North Sumatra complained to KPAID-SU that each year the divorce rate continues to rise.
Throughout the year 2012, KPAID-SU had received complaints from the public as much as 191 cases.
The amount is increased by approximately 15% from the year 2011 which reached 163 cases. Case in
KPAID-SU is the biggest issue on child custody is contested by both parents who are in the process of
divorce or have divorced, the figure was 54 cases or more than 28.27%.
A problem to be raised is "Parenting the Parent Child Victims of Divorce Adjacent Indonesian
Child Protection Commission of North Sumatra (KPAID-SU)". This study aims to determine how the
Parent Parenting Children Victims of Divorce Adjacent Indonesian Child Protection Commission of
North Sumatra (KPAID-SU). Methods This study uses descriptive qualitative approach. This research
was conducted in the Indonesian Child Protection Commission of North Sumatra (KPAID-SU). Data was
collected by in-depth interviews and field observations. Data retrieved later narrated by conducting
qualitative categorization and further analyzed.
Data on parents' parenting children of divorce in this study camouflaged in the interests of child
protection. Based on the data that has been collected and analyzed can be concluded that the pattern of
parenting a child victim should still be considered for the sake of fulfilling the basic rights of children
according to the Child Protection Act No. 23, 2002.
