Respon Narapidana terhadap Program Pembinaan di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Klas Iib Siborongborong Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara

Abstract

Crime is one of the social problems that are an integral part of human life. Crime in Indonesia has increased as rising unemployment and difficulties to meet the necessities of life. Finally offenders languishing in correctional institutions and the need to get coaching. Class IIB Siborongborong Correctional Institution is one of the correctional institution in North Sumatra who implement training programs for inmates. However the longer the number of inmates in Correctional Institutions Class IIB Siborongborong increasing, it is necessary to note the response to the inmate training program. This research was descriptive with a total population of 745 people. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling poporsional inmates who had been serving a sentence of one to five years as many as 298 people, and a sample is 10% of the 298 people that is 30 people. Methods of data collection observation, questionnaires and interviews. To analyze the data using Likert scale to measure the perceptions, attitudes and participation of the inmates of the guidance program. Respondents are given a questionnaire and then the answer are presented in tabular form and then conducted a quantitative analysis with a Likert Scale. Result from this study concluded that the response of inmatest to the program is very good and positive development through the results of a calculation using the Likert Scale, where the perception of the program is worth 0.82 inmates, prisoners attitude is worth 0.706, 0.609 worth inmate participation and the results of the average rating scale is 0.711. In the implementation of coaching there are still barriers such as lack of facilities and infrastructure and the number of inmates who are not in accordance with the capacity, this needs to be taken by government to overcome the problem of shortage of budget funds. The result obtained is a description of the particular institution to maintain and improve the quality of exsisting training programs in Correctional Institution Siborongborong Klas IIB.
