Advanced age is a situation where one's inability to sustain life, or fairly well. Without having to burden, involving the family or the people around him. Many elderly people who entered into various nursing home because of family circumstances that are not able to properly take care of another parent. This factor caused by the lack of family attention to their parents, they feel their parents as a burden in their family. But there are also due to economic factors. But there are also parents who choose to join with other nursing homes, because they do not want to bother their families. Like Binjai UPTD Dharma compassion that accommodate the elderly and elderly in old age backdrop the author to conduct research in the Dharma Asih Binjai, as inmates UPTD by lifting the title of Citizen Response Against Patronage Welfare Program In Old Age by Dharma Office of Technical Implementation the Dharma Asih.
This research in including in descrietif research by analizing qualitative data .analysis aims to determine how the response of Citizens Against Patronage Welfare Program In Old Age by Dharma Office of Technical Implementation. The response can be seen from the perception, attitude and participation of inmates in the program. The population in this study is 160 elderly. To obtain the necessary data in this study, the researchers used a technique Non random sample is purposive sampling with total sample of 40 elderly.to get the data that is needed so in this recearcher using technic study of literature and study of fiidd by using observation, questionare, and interviewing.
The results of the research shown that civil response of inmates in the Dharma Asih Binjai on welfare programs in the old days is positive. This can be viewed from the knowledge of the elderly about the existence and purpose of the program both on infornasi given the relevant staff, program planning and sustainability. Then in terms of
participation, the elderly as recipients follow the guidance and training programs provided by the UPTD Dharma compassion, 75.00% or 30 elderly follow the guidance and training provided by the UPTD. Nevertheless, the elderly need to be given intensive guidance and training on welfare programs in the old days for the elderly really understand the purpose of the program and later the elderly can enjoy a day old and at the end of his life.
