    Abstract
    Green revolution has made the farmers who have less than 0.5 hectare of land hardly getting out of poverty. Increased yields that forced to be produced in a shorter time in 1998 has made the farmers’ income decreased and unstable. Therefore, Bina Keterampilan Pedesaan (BITRA) Indonesia Foundation has tried to help farmers to solve problems by implementing development program which is organic farming program. This research aimed to determine whether there is positif influence of the organic farming program towards socio-economic of Assisted Group of BITRA Indonesia Foundation in Lubuk Bayas Village of Perbaungan Serdang Bedagai. This research was classified as an explanatory research that aimed to test or prove the hypothesis by Independent Two-Sample T-Test Analysis Technique. The population in this research were 62 organic farmers (members of assisted group) and 455 inorganic farmers (not the members of assisted group). Based on the population, the author set the purposive sampling as the sampling technique. This technique was chosen since only 30 members of the assisted group that has produced organic rice at the time of the research. The author also chose 30 inorganic farmers based on the similarity rate of progress, such as land area. The conclusion of the data analysis using Independent Two-Sample T-Test Analysis Technique with critical value for the t distribution with 29 degrees of freedom at confidence level of 0.05 equaled 2.045 and critical value for the t distribution with 28 degrees of freedom at confidence level of 0.05 equaled 2.048 was tcount was greater than ttable (2,3188 > 2,045 or 2,3188 > 2,048). It meant that Accepted Ha was there was positive influence of the organic farming program towards socio-economic of Assisted Group of BITRA Indonesia Foundation in Lubuk Bayas Village of Perbaungan Serdang Bedagai. Some indicators which had significant differences and influences in the overall socio-economic calculation were: indicators of income which was dominated by income from farming, indicators of health such as health status, indicators of foods consumption such as the frequency of consuming extra food such as milk and fruit, indicators of clothes consumption such as frequency of purchasing new clothes for the wifes, and indicators of residentials such as the status of home ownership.
