Implementasi Program Handicraft (Kerajinan Tangan) oleh Yayasan Cordia Caritas Medan di Kelurahan Brayan Bengkel Kecamatan Medan Barat Kota Medan

Abstract

Poverty is a problem for the people of Indonesia, one of the factors that cause is the lack of public revenue. In this poverty problem, then apply the Cordia Caritas Medan handicrafts programs in an attempt to reduce poverty and increase incomes of the poor, also empower the human resources in building the economy of poor families through the process of handicraft training. The purpose of this research is to find out how to arrange the implementation of the program in order to improve the welfare of the people who built on Brayan Bengkel and find out the implementation problems of handicraft in order to gain the objective accordance mission that expected by Cordia Caritas Medan to empowering the poor. This study is descriptive with a population of 18 people, based on sampling Arikunto Suharsini opinion stating that fewer than 100 subjects taken things better, so all the sample population, is 18 people. Data obtained using a questionnaire on the respondent and processed by using a single table. These results indicate that the handicraft by the Foundation program Cordia Caritas Medan can be said to succeed because it can improve the quality and skills of community resources Brayan Bengkel built their capacity to produce handicraft products, in addition to the participation of citizens who built the craft training is also good, where people who attended the training which was built in accordance with the agreed schedule, it shows the seriousness of the two target communities gain knowledge and skills, then at least the capital provided by Cordia Caritas Medan, indeed all citizens built increasing income, but not too large, this resulted in communities Brayan Bengkel built can not raise income, living conditions and welfare independently.
