For Indonesia, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of
the national economy, such as the backbone of national economic activity when
the global economy begins to decline or deteriorate. One example of SMEs are
now experiencing fairly rapid growth and has broad market demand, namely
Chicken Business Cut. This is because its role is large enough to meet the
consumption needs of society are aware of the importance of eating nutritious
food.
The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of the purchase and
supply of raw materials implemented in order to reduce the cost in terms of
inventory. Optimal raw material inventory is an important factor in the smooth
production process and the company's operations. These raw materials can be
controlled by using certain methods, one of which is the method Economic Order
Quantitdy (EOQ) which has a level of calculation accuracy better than
conventional methods.
The result showed that the quantity of raw material purchase live chickens
EOQ method amounted to1264 kg with a frequency of purchase as many
as92times, safety stock by 24 Kg and ROP done at the time the raw material
warehouse of 413 kg, while the total cost of inventory amounting to Rp 9.917.296
in 2016.
Conclusions from this research is using EOQ method on live poultry raw
material more efficiently compared with a policy the owners use. It can be seen
from the comparison of the total supply of raw material efisein EOQ method so as
to save costs is able to increase profits. Suggestions are recommended for
business owners is to use EOQ method in the process of raw material inventory
control in the business.
