Efektivitas Pelaksanaan Program Pelayanan Sosial terhadap Penyandang Tuna Daksa oleh Yayasan Pembinaan Anak Cacat (Ypac) Medan
Abstract
The problem of handicapped people is one of social problem that should get special attention of both from the goverment and society. Each people has their willing and the same human being, it is to be able to live prosperously and to be able to do their social functions, thus for the handicapped people. This research is aimed to find out how the process and the effectivity of the social service programs for handicapped people in The Institute Of Cultivation For The Handicapped Children (YPAC) Medan to prosperous and to autonomous the handicapped people, through the assessment service, the service of medical rehabilitation, the service of education rehabilitation, the service of pravocational rehabilitation, and the service of social rehabilitation. This research is using the descriptive method with 20 population, because the population is less from 100 so the whole population is being the sample. The technicque of collecting data is using the primary data (questioner and interview) and the secondary data (library study). The technique of analysis data is using qualitative descriptive analysis technique where the data is gained from the questioner and interview, and is tabled in frequency distribution and then being analized. From the analysis result, it is know that the service and the ciltivation which is given by YPAC Medan is effective in prosperous and autonomous the handicapped, by giving such kind of skills, by improving social functions of the handicapped people, and by practising their autonomous based on their ability. It is proved by the changes or the positive development experienced by the handicapped people after they join the program of service and cultivation in YPAC Medan. Such as : to be able in mastering the skills, to be able in socializing in the social environment, to be able autonomous in helping their own needs, for example in wearing clothes, trousers, shoes, etc.
