Upaya Panti Sosial Bina Daksa (Psbd) Bahagia Sumatera Utara dalam Peningkatan Fungsi Sosial Orang dengan Kecacatan (Odk)

Abstract

Public rejection of Persons With Disability (ODK) often leads to loss of self-esteem and decreased social functioning ODK in the family in particular and society in general. PSBD Happy as a unit of social ministry is one of the institutions responsible for improving the social functioning ODK. In this study the authors tried to highlight efforts to improve the social functioning, henceforth be known how the efforts of Panti Sosial Bina Daksa (PSBD) Bahagia North Sumatra in improving social functioning of people with disabilities (ODK). This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with qualitative data analysis techniques. Sampling technique used was purposive sampling , the number of informants as many as 15 people ODK and 5 employees PSBD Bahagia. Data collection techniques used are the primary data in the form of interviews and secondary data from literature studies. Based on the data that has been collected and analyzed, it can be concluded ODK has increased its social function after getting a social rehabilitation program within Panti Sosial Bina Daksa (PSBD) Bahagia. As for the social rehabilitation program PSBD Bahagia is the initial approach, admission, assessment, social guidance, mental, physical, and skill, resocialization, further guidance, and termination.
