With disabilities blind is the sense of vision (both ways) does not function
as a receiver channel information in daily activities as well as normal people. One
effort empowerment of person disabilities conducted by the Education
Foundation of blind namely the provision of skills training programs for persons
with disabilities blind conducted in Sumatra Blind Education Foundation
(YAPENTRA) Tanjung Morawa, Kab. Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The goal is
to improve skills, knowledge according to their talents, so that they have a mental
benefits and provision for his ability.
This study examines the form of descriptive research problem skills
training programs for persons with disabilities blind. This study aims to determine
the effectiveness of skills training programs for persons with disabilities blind in
Education Foundation for the Blind Sumatra (YAPENTRA) Tanjung Morawa,
Kab. Deli Serdang in North Sumatra. The sample was blind inmates social skills
training consisted of 27 people who all serve populations. Indicators used to
measure the effectiveness of the skills training program is understanding of the
program, on target, on time, the achievement of objectives and tangible change
before and after the program.
To determine the level of effectiveness of the program, the measurement
data is done by using a Likert scale. The study concluded, the effectiveness of
skills training programs for persons with disabilities blind in Education
Foundation for the Blind Sumatra (YAPENTRA) Tanjung Morawa, Kab. Deli
Serdang in North Sumatra that is effective with the Likert score 3.71.
Understanding of the respondents are neutral as much as 2.93. Right on target as
much as 4.31 is very effective. 3.39 timely as neutral. 4.2 very effective
achievement of objectives. Real change of 5.3 is very effective. Respondents
skills training now have the skills and more confidence.
