dc.description.abstractDisabled people need to get special attention from family, society and government, because people with disabilities have the same rights and obligations in all aspects of life. Among them are the ability to develop physical, mental and social so that people with disabilities are able to work according to their ability, education and skills in accordance with their interests and experience. Through of Outstanding School /A (SLB /A) Karya Murni Medan Johor special for visually impaired, the disabilities of visually impaired got the skills training program so as to achieve selfsufficience in public life. This study examines the form of descriptive research problem skills training programs for visually impaired. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of skills training programs for visually impaired at Outstanding School/A (SLB/A) Karya Murni Medan Johor. The sample of this study are the visually impaired students who attend training skills consists of 15 people. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Indicators used to measure the effectiveness of the skills training program is a reaction, learning, behavior and organizational impact on respondents. To determine the level of effectiveness of the program, the measurement data is done by using a likert scale. The study concluded, the effectiveness of skills training programs for persons with disabilities visually impaired at the Outstanding School/A (SLB/A) Karya Murni Medan Johor work effectively with a likert scale value 3,79. Reaction respondent is effective as 3,82. The learning process of respondents is effective as 3,78. Behavior change as much as 3,71. The impact of skills training programs for the respondents also effective as 3,88. Respondents who attend the skills training now have the skills and more confidence.en_US
