| dc.description.abstract | This study describes an outline of the program implementation NGO H2O (Human
Health Organization) in HIV / AIDS in the city of Medan. By taking the arena setting
and context of the main tasks of H2O NGOs in HIV / AIDS through sexual
transmission, especially in the city of Medan and the District of Medan Medan
Selayang Tuntungan. This study describes the performance of NGOs specifically
H2O in the city of Medan in implementing outreach programs and mentoring a group
of sex workers as HIVAIDS prevention programs in the city of Medan.
Simultaneously along with the obstacles that occur in the field
This study began with the study of the social background that the problems that
occurred in the city of Medan increasingly encroaching upon the seriousness. Social
problems are compounded by the continued spread of HIV & AIDS in the city of
Medan. This means that the number of people living with HIV / AIDS in the city of
Medan is likely to increase. Moreover, some percentage of those people are students
(working age). Thus the problem of HIV / AIDS has become a serious threat to
future generations. Because of the high proportion of productive age group affected
by this dangerous disease, it can be expected will be lower life expectancy. This
becomes an important issue and more people are expected to live in a shorter period
of time. This study uses multiple approaches including theories on organization
theory, policy implementation, and the Subject of HIV / AIDS. The research methods
used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach to data
collection techniques obtained through interview techniques / interview and
documentation.
The results showed that the implementation of NGO programs H2O (Human Health
Organization) in HIV / AIDS in the city of Medan and coordination of the
implementation of policies, strategies and measures are necessary in response to HIV
/ AIDS by NGOs H2O has been going well. The program is executed, first, Increased
Positive Role of Stakeholders, second, Behavior Change Communication (KPP),
third, Supply Management Condoms and lubricants, fourth, IMS Management
