Peranan Kelompok Usaha Bersama Lanita Medan dalam Meningkatkan Keberfungsian Sosial Penyandang Cacat

Abstract

Every human being longs for a normal life without any lack of physical, mental or even social attitude. For those who have physical, mental or even both disorder, will affect his being as social creature. This condition will give result in his less opportunity to get along with friends, to enjoy school, to work and sometimes it causes a discriminative attitude from those normal people. This research, which is conducted in KUBE PC Lanita at Pancing Medan, is carried by empowering them especially for those who are paralyzed (no legs or/and no hands) to have a skill in order to improve their skill and encourage them to be independent. This research uses qualitative approach in which data were taken from three resources. Data filtering instruments were collecting, executing, presenting and describing through structural interview and then analyzing. The research findings show that the management development given by KUBE PC Lanita through sharing gives them a relieved feeling and calmness. They even able to understand other and willing to be open up for something thay are facing through or being faced by other paralyzed fellows. While their sewing skill are improved well because it gives them an opportunity to run their own taylor business. These paralyzed people who join the program are able to perform well and able tp socialize with the community even though the are still livng together in the same house
