Palm Oil Mill Effluent is palm oil waste containing 0.6-0.7% oil, 4-5%
fat, 95-96% water and total solids. Biohydrogen is produced using Palm Oil
Mill Effulence fermentation with the addition of probiotic microbes and NaOH
catalyst. This research was conducted at PT. Socfindo Bangun Bandar from
February to March 2022. Using 6 treatments of NaOH catalyst mixed with
Probiotic bacteria with 4 replications covering parameters of Temperature,
Pressure, COD, BOD, VSS, Volume and Flame. The purpose of this study was
to obtain the best variation of time and concentration of NaOH through
fermentationusing probiotic bacteria. The results showed that the longest flame
and the highest pressure from the second treatment was the addition of 0.5%
NaOH catalyst for 14 days of fermentation with a flame of 12.75 seconds, a
blue flame color and a pressure of 1,0145 bar. The volume value of
biohydrogen with the addition of 0.5% NaOH catalyst is 1170.33 ml
