dc.description.abstractThis study aims to determine the relationship between student engagement and academic achievement in high school students in Medan City during online learning. This study using student engagement theory and academic achievement theory from This research’s subjects are 177 students. The method used in this study is a correlational quantitative research method with data collection methods using a Likert Scale and self-reports for academic achievement. Likert scale items for student engagement reached 10 items. The data obtained were processed using a simple linear regression analysis technique. Based on the results of the study, it shows that there is a positive relationship between student engagement and academic achievement in mathematics with a value of 0.39 > 0.05 (R=0.024, p <0.05), (F = 4.324), (t = 2.079; p > 0, 05). Student engagement only contributed 2.4% to academic achievement in mathematics in this study and based on the results of research on student engagement it was found that 18.1% were in the medium category, 81.9% were in the high category and 0% were in the low categoryen_US
