The results of the study indicate that the pattern of political communication of female legislative members in the DPRD of North Sumatera province for the 2019-2024 period consists of communicator elements, where informants have confidence in carrying out their roles as people’s representative in the midst of the phenomenon of gender inequality; the communicant are male members, where they must have the same point of view and feelings as the communicator in order to get the expected feedback; the message cannot be temporary; the media used are online media and social media; and the feedback received by female members is sometimes ignored by male members because they consider women’s issues to be less urgent. Communication barriers in the form of psychological barriers such as prejudice communicants against communicators and anthropologist in the form of incomplete messages received. Political communication efforts are carried out by increasing the number of female members, following in the footsteps of previous leaders, utilizing online and social media and persuading fellow political elites, especially men, to fight for women’s rights together.
