dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research was to inventore species of fungi in peat soil in case to accelerate decomposition process the organic matter and to know influence of peat maturation for fungi existence to decompose organic matter . The soil sample were taken from Desa Sei Siarti , Kabupaten Labuhan Batu . The isolation of fungi were carried out at Pest and Plant Disease Laboratory , Faculty of Agriculture , North Sumatera University . The isolation of fungi carried out using extract dilution of peat soil method . There were two species of fungi in fibrik such as Aspergillus sp.1 and Mukor sp . , with total population 10370 cfu / ml , in hemik there were five species of fungi such as Penicillium chrysogenum , Mucor sp . , Penicillium digitatum , Pinicillium sp . , Curvularia sp . , with total population 1970 cfu / ml , and in saprik there were four species of fungi such as Aspergillus sp.1 . , Fusarium sp . , Penicillium chrysogenum , Aspergillus sp.2 . , with total population 37000 cfu / ml .en_US
