dc.description.abstractThe use of traditional medicine is growing rapidly lately. Many people interested to treat all kinds of diseases that they suffered, such as Bawang Dayak which has phytochemical compounds, among others, alkaloids, glycosides, flavanoids, phenolics, quinones, steroids, tannins and essential oils in which the compounds are suspected to have antimicrobial effects. Staphylococcus aureus is one of the bacteria that causes abscess. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Dayak extract on bacterial growth of Staphylococcus aureus isolate pus ondontogenic infection. Testing the effectiveness of Dayak extract on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus by diffusion disc method by placing a soaked disc, on Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) media containing bacterial suspension and observation. The result of this research is repeated 8 times with concentration 50%, 75%, 100%, aquades as negative control and gentamicin as positive control. Inhibitory zones of Dayak extract on concentrations of 50%, 75%, 100%, aquades and gentamicin against Staphylococcus aureus were 23.103 mm, 18,900 mm, 21,544 mm, 0,000 mm and 53,400 mm. ANNOVA test results showed significant differences (p <0.05) between Dayak extracts with concentrations of 50%, 75%, 100%, aquades and gentamicin. The conclusion of this study, Dayak extract is effective against the growth of staphylococcus aureus isolate pus odontogenic infection.en_US
dc.description.abstractPenggunaan obat traditional semakin berkembang pesat akhir-akhir ini. Banyak masyarakat tertarik untuk mengobati segala macam penyakit yang dideritanya, diantaranya Bawang Dayak yang memiliki senyawa fitokimia antara lain, alkaloid, glikosida, flavanoid, fenolik, kuinon, steroid, zat tannin dan minyak atsiri yang mana senyawa-senyawa tersebut diduga memiliki efek antimikroba.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak Bawang Dayak terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Stafilokokus aureus isolat pus infeksi odontogenik. Pengujian efektivitas ekstrak bawang dayak terhadap pertumbuhan Stafilokokus aureus dengan metode disk difusi dengan meletakkan disk yang telah rendam, pada media Muller Hinton Agar (MHA) yang berisi suspensi bakteri dan dilakukan pengamatan. Hasil penelitian ini dilakukan pengulangan 8 kali dengan konsenstrasi 50%, 75%, 100%, aquades sebagai kontrol negatif dan gentamicin sebagai kontrol positif. Zona hambat ekstrak Bawang Dayak pada konsentrasi 50%, 75%, 100%, aquades dan gentamicin terhadap Stafilokokus aureus adalah 23,103 mm, 18,900 mm, 21,544 mm, 0,000 mm dan 53,400 mm. Hasil Uji ANNOVA menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan ( p < 0,05) diantara ekstrak Bawang Dayak dengan konsentrasi 50%, 75%, 100%, aquades dan gentamisin. Kesimpulan penelitian ini, ekstrak Bawang Dayak efektif terhadap pertumbuhan Stafilokokus aureus isolat pus infeksi odontogenik.en_US
