dc.description.abstractSiak Regency is one of the regencies in Riau Province with an area of about 855,609 ha. The location of the Siak district is a coastal area so that you can find mangrove trees that grow along the river coast. The capability of remote sensing image technology is able to help provide a wide range of information, thus assisting in monitoring changes in the area of an area remotely without having to go to the field. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in mangrove area cover periodically and to determine the condition of mangrove waters in Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research was conducted from November to October 2020. The results showed that the area of mangrove cover from 2013 to 2020 decreased by 85 ha. From 2013 to 2015 the mangrove cover decreased by 69 ha, while in the period from 2015 to 2020 its cover decreased by 16 ha. Water measurements were carried out in situ and ex situ, researchers used software in the form of ARCGIS which is software for image processing to process map data of mangrove cover area downloaded from the Earthexplorer website.en_US
