    Sintesis dan Karakterisasi Film Pva-Pati Eter Hasil Alkoksilasi Epoksida Metil Ester Asam Lemak Minyak Kemiri dengan Pati Singkong

    Abstract
    The PVA-ether starch film was prepared by mixing polyvinyl alcohol and ether starch of the synthesis. The ether starchwas obtained by alkoxylation of fatty acid methyl ester epoxide of candlenut oils with cassava starch. The epoxide compound was obtained from an epoxidation reaction of unsaturated fatty acid with a performic acid, wherein the unsaturated fatty acid of candlenut oils was separated by urea complexation method. The PVA-ether starchfilm has a higher tensile strength value compared to PVA-cassava starch film with tensile strength, strain and modulus of young's with PVA-etherstarch were obtained respectively 6.07 MPa ; 18.41% ; 32.97 MPa, whereas with PVA-cassava starch obtained respectively 4.23 Mpa; 13.64% ; 31.01 MPa. Furthermore, the hydrophobicity of the film was carried out by water-resistance test in which the PVA-ether starch has a higher water resistance value than the PVA-cassava starchwith value were obtained 81,36% and 32,31%, respectively.
     
    Film PVA-Pati eter diperoleh dari campuran polivinil alkohol (PVA) dengan pati eter hasil sintesis. Pati eter dihasilkan dari alkoksilasi epoksida metil ester asam lemak minyak kemiri dengan pati singkong. Senyawa epoksida diperoleh dari reaksi epoksidasi asam lemak tak jenuh menyak kemiri dengan asam performat, dimana asam lemak tak jenuh minyak kemiri dipisahkan dengan metode kompleksasi urea. Film PVA-Pati eter memiliki nilai kekuatan tarik yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan film PVA-Pati singkong dengan nilai kekuatan tarik, regangan dan modulus young’s filmPVA-Pati eter masing-masing adalah 6,07 MPa ; 18,41% ; 32,97 MPa, sedangkan filmPVA-Pati singkong diperoleh masing-masing adalah 4,23 MPa ; 13,64% ; 31,01 MPa. Selanjutnya sifat hidrofobisitas film dilakukan dengan uji ketahanan air dimana film PVA-Pati eter memiliki nilai ketahanan air yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan film PVA-Pati singkong dengan nilai masing-masing adalah 81,36% dan 32,31% .
