The Gunung Leuser National Park is a protected forest area and have important function in taking care of ekosistem and biodiversity . This area have the variety of type of fauna and flora and have the hilly forest condition and have ramp > 40 % . Application of Geographic Information System is expected can improve continuation of management of forest area in this case research is to seenly relation of height and ramp with the closeness vegetation by using Digital Elevation Model ( DEM ) in area of forest Tangkahan , Cinta Raja , Sei Lepan and Area of Ekosistem Leuser . From processing data result is can obtained that topography predominating in research region is area which be at height 300 - 700 m broadly is 22.343,725 ha , for the inclination of farm most its topography region very steep with the inclination gratuity > 40 % and broadly is 41.885,443 ha , and assess the index vegetation predominating in research region is vegetation indeks that class 0,537 -0,646 by vegetation close for the width of 39.328,19 ha . For the relation of between place height with the closeness vegetasi obtained by a enough lower correlation that is 0,612 and have sign to positiifity ( + ) what its meaning that is contrary instruct so that excelsior of place height hence mount the downhill closeness vegetasi progressively and relation of between ramp with the closeness vegetation obtained rather low low that is 0,403 with the correlation coefficient of have sign to positifity ( + ) what its meaning is one way relation so that if ever greater ramp hence mount the closeness of vegetationi excelsior .
