Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Pembukaan Pertambangan Emas di Hutan Batang Toru (Studi Kasus Kecamatan Batang Toru, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan)

Abstract

Goal of this research is how to describe your perception of society towards the gold mining area in Batang Toru Forest and to describe your relationship to socio economic factors ( age , education , long living , and income ) with the public perception towards the establishment of the gold mining area in Batang Toru Forest in Napa and Ack Pining Village , Batang Toru District , South Tapanuli Regency . This study was conducted in October and November 2008. This research is done with descriptive method , the level of perception using Likert Scale and the relationship to see socio - economic ( age , education , long living , and income ) to the perception of the local community about the establishment of the gold mining area in Batang Toru Forest using the Spearman Rank correlation . Number of samples taken 80 of the 55 families in Ack Pining and 25 families in the Village of Napa . Collecting data in the primary and secondary research was conducted using questionnaires , interviews , observation , and study literature . Results of research indicate that the people does not yet have sufficient knowledge about the forest . Society also looked at the positive existence of the mining area Batang Toru Forest , because the community is able to increase income , reduce unemployment , although this is felt by some new people . But the infrastructure , environment and culture has not changed significantly . There is a strong relationship between level of education with public perception . There is no strong relationship anatara age , duration of living and income level of public perception
