Penentuan Tajuk Subjek Pada dinas Perpustakaan Dan Kearsipan Pemko Medan

Abstract

The objective of writing this paper is to determine the subject headings at the Medan City Government Library and Archives Agency. The subject headings in library materials are a theme or topic of the contents of a library material. Determination of the subject headings on library materials aims to determine the theme or topic of a library material. The data of this paper are collected using the method of literature study, field study, observation, interviews and documentation conducted at the Medan City Library and Archives Agency. The results show that the Medan City Library and Archives Agency determine the subject heading of a library material by analyzing the subject of the library material by looking at the title of a library material or looking at the table of contents or preface; this way the subject of the library material can be determined.
