Abstract

The high Infant Mortality Rate in a country shows that the community health is still poor and i4 is the one of importdnt indicqtors in detgrmining community health level. The purpose of this study ts to analye the influence of innovation characteristics (rqlalivq advantage, compatibility, complenity, observability) and social system among postpartum mothers on lhe innovation adoption of the early initintion of breastfeeding implementation at Mutiara Puhlic Health Center in 201L The type oI this study is an erplaratory sm'vey with sample of 34 postpartum mothers who hsve got information about early initiation of breastfeeding at Muttara Public Health Center. Dota are analyzed by multiple logistic regression test. The result of this stufu showed that the innovation adoption of the early initiation of breastfeeding impleflrefttation has been inlluenced significantly by innovation characterlstlcs (relatlve advantage, compatibility) and social system among postpartum mothers, meanwhile the fiost influential variable u,as social system among postportum mothers with coefrcient of B : 3,498 To the health personel it is suggested to cooperate,i'ith community leaders, religious leoders and traditional leaders, in giving extension about the irrnovdtion early initiation of breastfeeding
