Efektivitas KIE (Komunikasi, Informasi dan Edukasi) terhadap Penggunaan KB IUD (Intra Uterine Devices) di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tanjung Rejo Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

The use of IUD contrdceptive in the working area of Puskesmas Tanjung Rejo in 2012 was only 6.459%. One of the factors causing the Fomily Planning acceptors are less interested in usrng IUD contaceptive is the factor of communication, in{ormation and education (transparency, empatlty, supporting attitude, positile atlitude, and eqwlity) of the health workers to the FP acceptors. The purpose of this explanatory study was to analyze the effectiveness of the communication, information and education (tansparenq,, empathy, supporting attitude, positiye attitud4, and equality) of the health workers on the use of IUD conlraceptive in the working orea of Puskzsmas Tanjung Rejo, Deli Serdang Dislrict. The population of this study was all of tlu 7164 mothers using contraceptives in the worHng area of Puskzsmas Tanjung Rejo, Deli Serdang District, and 132 of them were selected to be the samples for this study through simple random sampling technique. The data for this study were obtained through questionnaire-based interviews. The data obtained vere analyzed through muhiple logistic regression testsata=5o/o. The result of this stuily statistically showed that the factors of transparency, empathy, supporling attitude, and positive attitude h.td infiuence on the use of IUD contraceptive and the factors of:upport, positivc attih;de and occupotion did not have influence on the use of IUD contaceptive in the worhing area of Puskcsmas Tanjung Rejo, Deli Serdang Dislrict. The most dominant varfubles having influence on the use of IUD conftacepttve in the working area of Pusl;esmas Tanjung Rejo, Deli Serdang District were age, educatio4 parity, transparenLy, enpathy, equality, and media. These seven variables had influence on the use of IUD contraceptive for 59.40% meaning that the remaining 4l.lok was influenced by the other factors which were not included in this study. The health workers are suggested to improve their communicaticn, infornation and education on IUD contracepti,ve and to increase the cotterage of the use of IUD contraceptive by inviting the FP acceptors lo attend the extension and lhe health workcrs especially those working in the working area of Puskcsmas Tanjung Rejo, Deli Serdang Dislrict are suggested to more acth,ely provide the communication, information and education dctivity on IUD contraceptive to the FP acceptors.
