dc.description.abstractA commander has to able to run his leadership well since a lot of rules and hierarchical system are put in effect so that the soldiers’ motivation decreases. Heavy physical activity and seniority in the military have caused them to be depressed and to violate the rules since they feel dissatisfied. A company commander should give positive motivation to his soldiers to do their duty well and to put forward professionalism as soldiers. The problems of the study were as follows: whether there was the influence of effective leadership and work culture on soldiers’ work satisfaction at Armored Car Company 64 of Cavalry Battalion 6/Attack, Medan, either directly or indirectly, through their motivation. The hypothesis was that there was significant influence of effective leadership and work culture on soldiers’ work satisfaction at Armored Car Company 64, Cavalry Battalion 6/Attack, Medan, either directly or indirectly, through their motivation. The research was an associative research with an explanatory research method. The samples were 105 respondents, taken by using simple random sampling technique. The hypothesis was tested by using Structural Equation Model (SEM) at p-value > 0.05 which indicated that Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected. The result of the analysis showed that 1) effective leadership had directly positive and significant influence on work satisfaction, 2) work culture had negative and insignificant influence on work motivation and work satisfaction, 3) work motivation had significant influence on work satisfaction, and 4) work motivation acted as intervening variable which mediated the influence of effective leadership on work satisfaction so that effective leadership had significant influence on satisfaction if there was work motivation. This condition is expected to be the guidelines for the Commander of Armored Car Company 64, Cavalry Battalion 6/Attack, Medan, to provide anything which can increase work motivation.en_US
dc.description.abstractSeorang komandan harus mampu menjalankan kepemimpinannya dengan baik, karena banyaknya aturan dan berlakunya sistem kepangkatan (hirarki) dapat membuat motivasi anggota kompi menurun. Adanya aktifitas fisik yang berat dan senioritas di lingkungan kemiliteran membuat anggota merasa tertekan dan menimbulkan pelanggaran yang merupakan dampak dari adanya ketidakpuasan prajurit. Komandan kompi perlu memberikan motivasi positif kepada anggota agar tetap bertugas dengan baik dan mengedepankan profesionalisme sebagai prajurit. Perumusan masalah adalah apakah ada pengaruh kepemimpinan efektif dan budaya kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja anggota kompi panser 64 Batalyon Kavaleri 6/ Serbu- Medan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui motivasinya.Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah Kepemimpinan Efektif dan Budaya Kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kepuasan Kerjaanggota kompi panser 64 Batalyon Kavaleri 6/ Serbu- Medan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui motivasinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian asosiasi dengan sifat penelitian explanatory research. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 105orang yang ditentukan secara simple random sampling. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Model (SEM)dengan dasar pengambilan keputusan dilihat dari nilai p > 0,05 H0 diterima dan Ha ditolak atau p < 0,05 H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil pengujian: 1) kepemimpinan efektif berpengaruh positif signifikan secara langsung terhadap motivasi kerja tetapi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja 2) budaya kerja berpengaruh negatif tidak signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja maupun terhadap kepuasan kerja 3) motivasi kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja 4) motivasi kerja bertindak sebagai variabel intervening yang memediasi pengaruh kepemimpinan efektif terhadap kepuasan kerja sehingga kepemimpinan efektif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan jika ada motivasi kerja. Hal ini nantinya dapat menjadi pedoman bagi Komandan Kompi Panser 64 Batalyon Kavaleri 6/ Serbu- Medan untuk memberikan hal- hal yang dianggap mampu meningkatkan motivasi kerjaen_US
