dc.description.abstract | Hazardous waste treatment consist of collecting, transporting, treatment, dan
disposal. There are some objectives in determining solutions of the hazardous waste
treatment problems, for the corporations, the best solution is the one with mini-
mum cost, while for the goverment is the one with minimum risk. The solution
approaches incorporate with the hazardous waste consist of two main steps, that are
determining the facilities location and their transportation routes. The models in
some literatures generally did not describes real life problems, where only assumed
a single hazardous waste, there are no consideration of recycling, residual waste,
treatment, transportation and disposal cost of the residual waste. This study aims
to develop a multiobjectives model in locating-routing problem of hazardous waste
with some constraints, that are waste types and its residual waste, and also the ca-
pacity of every facilities from treatment to its disposal. This study objectives are
to minimize the total cost of hazardous waste treatment and also to minimize the
transportation risks. Then the interactive algorithm is proposed by using the Ana-
lytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach, in dealing with the goal priority aspects
of the decision maker (DM). The application of the model in a case example shows
a balance between cost and risk where costs will increase in order to reduce risk.
Hence, the location of the processing, recycling and disposal centers changes as the
weight factor changes. | en_US |
