dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the translation methods used in the subtitles of the animated film Ne Zha. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the object being studied in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences in the film subtitles. This study uses data collection methods in the form of listening and note-taking methods. The results of the study contained 51 data and showed that there were 6 translation methods used, 3 methods oriented to the source language and 3 methods oriented to the target language. There are 18 data (35%) word-for-word translation method, 13 data (25%) literal translation method, 12 data (24%) independent translation method, 16 data (12%) communicative translation method, and 1 data (2%) on faithful translation method and adaptation translation method.
