Perilaku Caring Perawat Menurut Persepsi Perawat dan Pasien di Rumah Sakit Swasta dan Negeri di Medan

Abstract

Enhancement the role of caring is basic for nursing care quality improvement. Caring behavior as the central focus of nursing is the most important nusing indicator. Caring behavior has a relationship with patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is the indicator of quality and efficiency of health care system. Nursing practice which is based on caring principle gives positive impact for nurses and patients. The objective of this study is to compare the perception of nurse and patient in private and state hospital in Medan. This study uses descriptive comparative design to compare nurse and patient perception about caring behavior in private and state hospital in Medan using multistage cluster sampling with 200 respondent. CBI-24 instrumen consist of 24 statements to measure caring behavior which is devided into 4 dimensions. Data analysis using Mann Wjitney U test. The analysis interprets any differences between nurse and patient perception in State Hospital with p value = 0,00 (p0.05) while in private hospital there in no difference with p value = 0.53 (p>0.05). The difference indicates that the nurse less optimum assessing and meet the patient necessity. It is important to evaluate caring application by nurse in hospital and fascilitate the nurse to apply caring in nursing care.
