Work satisfaction is something which is individual. Every individual has a different level of satisfaction based on his/her own value system. The higher the value towards the activities felt appropriate to the individual wish is, the higher the satisfaction towards the activities is. There are some things to be focused on by an organization to create work satisfaction in a working place, namely by improving work life quality as an effort of organization to realize the goals of organization, such as democratic-supervisory promotion policy, employees' involvement, and safe work condition. Carrying out work or activities can trigger work stress due to the high work burden and the low work life quality which can also decrease satisfaction, and which finally can decrease service quality of providing care to the patients that it creates a bad service in the hospital. The research objective is to find out the correlation of work life quality and work stress towards the work satisfaction of care-taking nurses in Imelda Hospital Medan. The research design is a qualitative research using a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The objective of correlation design is to analyze the correlation between the work life quality and work stress towards the work satisfaction. The population is 134 and the population becomes the sample. Data collecting is carried out by distributing questionnaires about work life quality, work stress, and work satisfaction The result of analytical test of correlation of work life quality and satisfaction, with work satisfaction nursing Sperman'rho shows p=0.000 and r=0.534 which means there is a positive correlation and a strong close correlation. The result of analytical test of work stress with work satisfaction shows p=0.000 and r=0.449 which means there is a correlation with a moderate close correlation. Improvement of work life quality is needed by providing a fair compensation which is suitable with the Provincial Minimum Wage. Career level is implemented so that the compensate on providing be based on the educational level and work experience. Low work stress is caused by monotonous work. Regular work rotation is implemented that changes the work structure which stimulates the development of knowledge so that the performance keeps on improving.
