| dc.description.abstract | Pneumonia which is number one killer, especially in balita (under five year-
old childrent), has spread to many countries including in donesia Its morbidity and
mortality can be seen from the statistic result. One of the attempts to decrease the
incidence of pneumonia is by recognizing its enablingfactors. t
The obiective of the researchwas to analyze the riskfactorfor the incidence
of pneunonia in balita at the General Hospital, Longs4 in 2015. The research used
retrospective study case control design. The population was balita tlat visited the
Gencral Hospital, Langsa. The data were gothered by using questionnaires and
analyzed by ustng multiple logistic regresssion analysis.
The result of the research showed that the vmiable of Exclusive Breasfeeding
(p:0,001,OR:8,406,95?5CI:2,632-26,874), nutrittion in balita (p:0,001, OR:7,114,
95%{I:2,481-20,398), socto-economy (p:0,023, OR:0,314, 95%oCI:0,IId-0,850),
mother education (p:0,036, OR:3,352, 95o/oCI:1,081-10,398), the use of woodfor
coodng (p:0,034, OR:2,937, 9596C1:10,870-7,955), mosquito coils (p:0,012,
oR:3,570, 9596C1:1,324-9,630) hod signtficant influence on pneumonia in balita.
The variable which did not have any influence pneumonio in balita were mother's,
iob, the extstence offamily members who smoke at home, distancefrom the house to
the higwoy to pneumoniabalita.
It is recommended that education and changing in people's habrt should be
provided by Langsa City Administration about immunizatton status factor and
nutrition in balita as early as possible and more attention to the allocation of funds
