Mangrove important role in maintaining soil fertility forest , one of the functions of mangrove forest products to maintain soil fertility that came from litter leaf . Litter leaf give the decomposition of organic material and influenced by salinity . The litter leaf produced essence that absorbed by plants and also a source of feed for fish . This is a research in Canang Belawan , Medan . The objectives of this research were to measure the decomposition rate of R. mucronata litter leaf at different levels of salinity as well as to determined composition of carbon ( C ) , nitrogen ( N ) , phosphorus ( P ) substance that obtained in decomposition of R . mucronata litter leaf on the different levels of salinity . Research results indicate that the level of salinity > 30 ppt decompositiated faster than the levelof salinity < 30 ppt . Average decompositiated namely the level at 0-10 ppt salinity is 14,13 grams , salinity 10-20 ppt is 17,5 grams , salinity 20-30 ppt is 21,1 grams , and salinity > 30 ppt is 4 grams . Leaf decomposition rate R. mucronata at the level of salinity 0-10 ppt , 10-20 ppt , 20-30 ppt , and > 30 ppt are 0,36 , 0,30 , 0,24 , and 0,72 . While C elements salinity level that is 0-10 ppt , 10 20 ppt , 20-30 ppt , and > 30 ppt is 1,38 % , 2,42 % , 2,5 % , 0,32 % . N elements in the burly offal leaves R. mucronata on the level of salinity 0-10 ppt , 10-20 ppt , 20-30 ppt , and > 30 ppt is 0,026 % , 0,05 % , 0,031 % , 0.006 % , and the P elements at the salinity level of 0-10 ppt , 10-20 ppt , 20-30 ppt , and > 30 ppt is 0,025 % , 0,06 % , 0,021 % , 0,004 % .
