This research aims at examining how transformational leadership and nonphysical
work environment affect employee performance at PT Perkebunan
Nusantara V as perceived from the nation of job satisfaction. Five hundred and
three employees working in the headquarters serve as the population of this causal
quantitative research. From list of questions prepared, both primary and secondary
data are collected and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and
SMART PLS version 3.0. The research findings reveal that transformational
leadership has positive and significant effects on employee performance, nonphysical
work environment has positive and insignificant effects on employee
performance, transformational leadership positively and significant affects job
satisfaction, non-physical work environment has positive and significant effect on
job satisfaction, and job satisfaction positively and significantly affects employee
performance. The result of an indirect test suggest that job satisfaction is able to
moderate both the correlation between transformational leadership and employee
performance as well as the correlation between non-physical work environment
and employee performance.
