dc.description.abstractPreparation composite of Unsaturated Polyester I57 BQTN-EX resin with oil palm empty bunch fiber and maleic anhydride as coupling agent is presented in this thesis. Fiber from oil palm empty bunch which was prepared with NaOH 1 %, was used as reinforcement for 157 BQTN-EX unsaturated polyester resin. Oil palm empty bunch fiber with various number of fiber was added maleic anhydride 5 ok as coupling agent and characterized by tensile strength, elongation, scanning electron microscope (SEM and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA). Increasing the number of fiber and fiber with anhydride maleat as coupling agent show increased on mechanical strength then the fiber without anhydride maleat.en_US
