dc.description.abstractThis study describes racism against black Americans in Alex Haley's novel The Autobiography of Malcolm X. This study aims to find out what racism occurs in the novel The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley then classify the types of racism that occur and find out what the impact of racism in the novel The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley. The research method used is the descriptive qualitative method by analyzing data in the form of quotations by reading the data, then describing the collected data and making conclusions. This study uses the theory of Lilian Green, which explains the dimensions of racism divided into four dimensions: internal, interpersonal, institutional and systematic. The results of this study of racism that occur in The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley include internal racism, interpersonal racism and institutional racism. The forms of action that occurred were physical and verbal violence, campaigning and segregation. The impact of racism on Malcolm X in his personal and social life is worrying, helpless, sad and scary.en_US
