Peran Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Humbang Hasundutan dalam Meningkatkan Minat Baca

Abstract

The objective of writing this scientific paper is to find out the program of the Library and Archive Agency of Humbang Hasundutan in increasing the people’s interest in reading in Humbang Hasundutan Regency. Library is the service given by its management in providing books and information for the people. This program is expected to be able to increase their knowledge and insight by using the library properly. With high interest in reading, people can grow and develop quickly by getting information easily so that they can change their thinking pattern in Humbang Hasundutan toward a better one. The writing of this scientific paper uses the methods of observation, interview, documentation, and library research which are done at the Library and Archive Agency of Humbang Hasundutan. The result of the analysis shows that the management of the Library and Archive Agency has implemented some programs such as visiting schools, Village Festival activities, Library Service to villages, Writing Folklores competition, Poetry Recital competition, Speech Competition, and Reading Place service.
