dc.description.abstractMedium carbon steel is widely used in engineering application, for example as a shaft, engine, and building conshuction. The design of shafts using medium carbon steel, for example, needs fatigue strenglh dat4 before or after heat trcahent process but the data is not always provided by the manufacturers. They can be obtained by conducting fatigue experiments. Hence, it is necessary to do research on fatigue strength limit after heat treatment material in this study, the heat treatnents of materials were conducted in the accordance with ASTM E466 standard. The specimens were divided into seven groups for the austenite formation temperature of 725oC,7500C,7750C, 8000c, 8250C, 8500C, and 875 0C, *ith the holding time one hour for each tempe'rafure. After the heat treatment process, all specimens were tempered at 1500C for one hour. Specimens were cleaned, and subjected to fatigues experiment at room temperature. Results of the test show that the highest of fatigue shength limit is 457 MP4 at 7750C austenite temperature formation \ith 23,34yo of martensite phase.en_US
