dc.description.abstract | Research about use of polypropylene graft maleic anhydric (PP-g-MA) as a adhesive and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a plastisizer in the manufacture and characterization thermoplastic particle board from powder of oil empty palm oil bunches and polyropylene thermoplastic had been done. This study consisted of three stages. The first stage preparation of oil palm empy bunches. The second stage preparation of polypropylene graft maleic anhydric. The last stage is the preparation and testing of thermoplastic particle board. In the precess of the preparation of thermoplastic particle board made with the addition of adhesive (PP-g-MA) and polyvinyl alcohol plastisizer variation. Characterization of thermoplastic particle board was analysed. Functional groups with FTIR, morphological with SEM testing, thermal properties by using TGA/DTG. mechanical properties by modulus of repture (MoR )and modulus of elasticity (MoE), physical properties of the density test, water absorption test and thickness sweeling. Result showed that the wood plastic composite has the best properties and in accordance with SNI 03-2105-2006 is in comparison TKKS PP-g- MA:PP:BPO (58%:2%:39% : 1%) with the MoR (158,71 kgf/cm2), density (0.85 g/cm3), water content (6,40%), the development of a thickness sweeling (16,72%) and the comparison TKKS:PP-g-MA:PP:BPO:PVA (51% 2% 33% 1% 13%) with the MOR (165,07 kgf/cm3), density (0,9 g/cm3), water content ((5.8 %), thickness sweeling (7,48%). But for the bending modulus of elasticity (MoE) has yet to meet with the SNI 03-2105-2006 with the percentage (2552 kgf/cm3) and (3235,67 kgF/cm3). | en_US |
