dc.description.abstract | ZnO and MnO2 powder have been fabricated by solid state reaction method to
produce the material of Zn1-xMnxO (x = 1.5, 2, 2.5% at.). In the process, the both
starting materials were milled and mixed using High Speed Shaker Mill for 3
hours. The samples were sintered at 500, 700 and 900 °C in the air atmosphere
with each holding time for 4 hours. The sintered samples were characterized
using XRD, I-V meter, C-V meter and VSM to investigate the structure, electrical
· and magnetic properties of the samples. The results of XRD show that both of
ZnO and Mn doped ZnO powder has a wurtzite hexagonal structure. The addition
of Mn in ZnO system decrease the crystal quality, conductivity, and dielectric
contant of ZnO, but on the contrary, increase its magnetic properties. The
increasing of the sintering temperature leads to crystal growth, increase the
resistivity and dielectric constant of Mn doped ZnO samples, but on the contrary,
decrease its magnetic properties. The samples that sintered at 500 °C show single
phase and have good ferromagnetic properties with the saturation (Ms),
remanance (MR), and coercivity (He) values are 0.16 emulg, 0. 0363 emu/g, and
277 Oe respectively. The formation of ZnMnO3 phase in Mn doped ZnO samples
that sintered at 700 and 900 °C has an effect on the electric and magnetic
properties of the samples. | en_US |
