Perubahan Gaya Potongan Rambut Pada Pria (Studi Kasus : Pada JK Barbershop Dr. Mansyur, Padang Bulan)

Abstract

This study discusses the trend of changing hairstyles that occur at JK Barbershop on Jalan Dr. Mansyur, Padang Bulan. In this study, it tries to explore in depth the changes in hairstyle models that occur at JK Barbershop and the factors that influence these changes and their impact on JK Barbershop. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Researchers conducted in-depth research for two months from June 2022 to August. In this study, data were obtained from field observations, in-depth interviews, and literature studies and secondary documents. The informants in this study consisted of four barbers, one staff employee, an owner and seven customers. The results of the study show that a trend of changing hairstyles has been found since JK Barbershop was founded in 2015. The trend has periodically changed in three periods and the most significant has occurred in the last five years. These changes consist of various types of hairstyles at JK Barbershop. The influencing factors consist of internal influences such as commodification of hairstyles and barberman creations and external factors such as pop culture and market culture. Meanwhile, the influence of changes that occur in JK Barbershop has positive and negative influences. The conclusion of this study is that the trend of changing hairstyles is a process of adapting the consumption of haircut styles that must be adjusted to consumer interests. These changes were driven in large part by the currents of popular culture that had an impact on JK Barbershop.
