dc.description.abstractThis study aims to look at the role of neuroticism personality with phubbing in Generation Z adolescents in Medan City. Neuroticism personality is an individual who is prone to psychological stress, unrealistic ideas, excessive desires or urges, and maladaptive coping responses. Individuals with high neuroticism are individuals who are anxious, restless, emotional, feel insecure, dissatisfied with themselves, and hypochondriacal. High neuroticism can increase phubbing in individuals. This study uses quantitative methods with data analysis using regression. Subjects in this study amounted to 278 subjects aged 12-15 years. In accordance with the proposed hypothesis, namely there is a role of "neuroticism" personality on phubbing in Generation Z adolescents in Medan City. the results of this study resulted in the personality role of neuroticism of 13.4% against phubbing tendencies. The results of this research categorization also show that there are many subjects who have moderate levels of neuroticism and phubbing personalities, because the level of students with neuroticism and moderate phubbing personalities dominates.en_US
